Call to Action: SAVE and UAB Limits in House Property Tax Proposal HF 2745 - March 24, 2026
HF 2745, Property Taxes by the House, was approved in the House Ways and Means Committee on Wednesday, March 18, and is now on the House Calendar. The bill diverts SAVE (Secure an Advanced Vision for Education) school infrastructure revenue to property tax relief too soon and effectively limits spending authority to no more than 35% of prior year expenditures annually. Call to Action: HF 2676 MAHA - March 23, 2026
The House amended and approved the Governor’s MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) bill, which included several costly and unworkable unfunded mandates that would impact school districts. The House bill is now attached to SF 2367, already on the Senate Calendar. Call to Action: Federal Title Funding - July 21, 2025
Several federal funding and eligibility decisions by the executive branch will impact children as school starts next month, if not reversed. As announced on June 30, 2025, $6.8 billion in federal title funds (all except for Title I) were held from distribution to states pending executive branch review to ensure prior administration directions do not conflict with President Trump’s priorities.
